We already know that The Witcher 3 will be appearing on Sony’s next-gen console, the PlayStation 4. But what does the developers think of Sony’s upcoming console offering?
In an interview with GamingBolt, quest designer Pawel Sasko agrees with other developers that the PS4 is a “high-end PC.”
After the announcement of the PS4 many graphics programmers commented that Sony’s upcoming console is a high-end PC and I agree with them.
In addition to that, Sasko mentions that the architectural change has made a lot of developers “happy.” It’s no secret that the the PS3 isn’t the most developer-friendly console out now and this should be good for those expecting multi-platform games.
The change of architecture made a lot of developers happy, including us. From a technical standpoint, the biggest disadvantage of PCs is customizable hardware in almost infinite number of ways. That’s why working on PS4 gives us comfort that every gamer is going to have a quality time with The Witcher 3.
I take it this is very comforting news for Sony fans, no? Of course, the PC “master race” crowd will scoff at the statements above, but for fans who feel burned by the PS3′s rather “second-rate” ports, this is something they’ll relish.
