According to a press release, CI Games, publisher and developer most notably known for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series, announced Lords of the Fallen.
With the development team headed by the former senior producer of The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, Tomasz Gop, it’s no surprise that Lords of the Fallen will be a fantasy action-RPG. However, it seems as if the game won’t be as simple of a ride as some players might think, according to Gop:
Our team is building Lords of the Fallen specifically for players who enjoy taking on huge challenges, where the odds are stacked against them. From the very beginning, Lords of the Fallen will intrigue and satisfy players’ hunger to explore each corner of a brand new world, freely customize and build their own character and take down some of the most epic enemies ever seen.
Players will step inside the shoes of Harkyn, a human who will go up against “an apparently unstoppable supernatural force.” The game will include a decision system that will impact both the world around the player and the character himself, not to mention the storyline.
In terms of structure, Lords of the Fallen will incorporate an “advanced combat system,” as well as class skill trees, though not much else is given beyond that.
CI Games will be showing off its game during E3, though look for Lords of the Fallen to fall on next-generation consoles and PC sometime in 2014.
