It must really suck if you’re a gamer in Australia. Saints Row 4 was denied classification, then the developers re-worked the code, but now the game has been denied classification again. So how many people does it take to determine if a game is allowed classification in Australia? Three.
Here’s the release from the Australian Classification board:
“A three-member panel of the Classification Review Board has unanimously determined that the computer game Saints Row IV is classified Refused Classification.
In the Review Board’s opinion, Saints Row IV could not be accommodated within the R 18+ classification as drug use related to incentives and rewards is not permitted.”
This is an issue, because PayDay 2 will be released in Australia but you can sell drugs on the game, it almost feels like favouritism. I really think this is over the top, but I can’t wait to see some kind of protest that involves the penetrator.
