Undoubtedly, one of last year’s biggest gaming issues was BioWare’s apparent “messing up” of Mass Effect 3′s ending. While a lot of people thought it didn’t do the series justice — so much so that it had to be expanded upon — the franchise’s lead writer doesn’t think the “majority” of ME fans had a problem with it.
This statement by franchise lead writer Mac Walters was shared during a Q&A session after theCanadian Video Game Awards. In it, Walters states that he thinks the majority of Mass Effect fans had an “issue” with the ending and that it was just a “very vocal minority.”
Not sure what to make of that, but if you’re the “majority” who did like it, then you’re in luck as Walters has confirmed that he’s penning Mass Effect 4 (though he doesn’t want it called that) among other things at BioWare and states, “Right now I’m actually just working on Mass Effect 4 (I wouldn’t call it 4, I’d just call it the next Mass Effect). It’s coming out of Montreal.”
For those looking forward to the next Mass Effect, is this good news for you or were you hoping that someone new would take over writing duties? Come to think of it, is Walters right in saying that only a “vocal minority” had an issue with ME3′s ending or is he just out of touch? Sound off and let us know, Mass Effect fans.
