Lost Planet 3, Capcom’s sci-fi third-person action game, has now been delayed a few months.
In a press release, Capcom has — for some reason — sneaked in that Lost Planet 3 won’t be hitting its expected ship date in June, but will instead be released this coming August 27 for all platforms.
Here’s the actual quote from the press release (via Joystiq):
For the more adventurous traveller why not embark on the trip of a lifetime to E.D.N. III. Admire the vast scale of the planet and brave the extreme and unpredictable conditions as Lost Planet 3 arrives on August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe. The Lost Planet series returns harsher than ever before for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. Ensure you’ve had your inoculations if departing on this action adventure as there’s a constant fear of an indigenous Akrid attack.
Not ragging on the game much, Lost Planet 1 and 2 weren’t exactly the de-facto standard when it came to sci-fi shooters. Let’s hope this extra development time polishes the game up a bit and makes our third trip worth it.
Anyone looking forward to this or did you not even know it was due originally in June?
