If you’ve yet to finish Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, I suggest turning back now. Yes, what you’re about to read will spoil one of the game’s biggest twists.
Still here? Good. Speaking to Pixel Enemy, Lords of Shadow franchise producer Dave Cox revealed that the game takes place in “one night,” and in the present day. What’s more, he also confirmed the breakdown on where Gabriel will spend his time throughout the tale.
The game takes place mostly in the present during one night. Players will spend their time between modern city and castle and this will be split roughly 60% city and 40% castle.
For those who’ve finished the game, you’ll of course know that Gabriel is now living in present day — and from what Cox said, he’ll be spending a lot of time in it, too.
Does this mean most of the stages are set in buildings and other current day structures? Sure seems like it.
Make sure to keep an eye out for our complete interview next week! In the meantime, read up on how Cox said he wants LoS2 to “feel” like a next-gen game even if it’s only set for a current-gen release.
Lords of Shadow 2 is set for a February 2014 release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
