President and CEO of Activision Publishing Eric Hirshberg took some time apart from his busy schedule to sit down with GamesBeat to talk about the Xbox One and Call of Duty: Ghosts. There is one tidbit, however, that may come as a surprise.
As far as Kinect integration goes, Hirshberg states that while Call of Duty: Ghosts will implement voice integration and commands, it will do so in a manner that will improve the gameplay, rather than hinder it:
Obviously, we didn’t reveal that element today. We just mentioned it. But we’ve always made sure that we don’t just use new technology for novelty’s sake. We always make sure that it makes the gameplay better. In this case, we think it will.
It’ll be interesting to see how, specifically, Call of Duty: Ghosts will integrate Kinect features. However, putting “Kinect” and “Call of Duty” in the same sentence is a strange thing for some people, so it will be a wait-and-see approach.
