Blizzard will make an announcement related to the Diablo franchise at Gamescom 2013, the company announced today during its investor call for its second-quarter fiscal report.
“We’ll be sharing more Diablo-related news at Gamescom later this month,” Blizzard President and Co-Founder Mike Morhaime said, according to Polygon.
On Wednesday, the Irvine, Calif.-based company said it will host a press briefing on Aug. 21, the same day Gamescom 2013 begins, to make ”a special announcement that’s sure to capture the attention of the Heavens, Burning Hells and all the shadowed places that lie between.” The Diablo series’ story is based around a conflict between heaven and hell.
The announcement could be an expansion for the action role-playing game. Blizzard has released several expansions for its popular MMO World of Warcraft, and one for its real-time strategy game Starcraft 2.
Gamescom 2013 runs through Aug. 21 to Aug. 25.
