As part of Sony’s “Conversations with Creators” video series, Ubisoft developers discuss developing Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for the PlayStation 4.
According to Assassin’s Creed IV associate producer Sylvain Trottier and creative director Jean Guesdon, due to the PS4′s added horsepower, the PS4 version will be a better-looking game than the current-generation versions. More specifically, Trottier states that, for the engineers, it’s more intuitive:
We’re going to be able to push the bar visually. It’s a lot more intuitive for our engineers.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be running at 100% of their power for Assassin’s Creed IV. As a result, the PS4 version will naturally include details the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions simply won’t have.
In addition, the “share” button on the DualShock 4 controller for the PS4 allows Ubisoft to craft a single-player campaign that is always connected, according to Guesdon. Thanks to that constant connection, players won’t have to be in multiplayer in order to have that feeling of their friends being there.
Mercifully, perhaps, the PS4′s horsepower allows Assassin’s Creed IV for PS4 to not have a single loading screen. Yes.
