Activision shows off next-generation graphics

I’m rarely blown away by a bunch of people staring back at me through a PC monitor, but this time was different. These next-generation graphics shown by Activision at the GDC, these amazing visuals will help tell a video game narrative on a much deeper level, emotion will be transmitted by expressions not just voice acting. What’s even more impressive is that they’re not even satisfied yet. Javier von der Pahlen Activision research and development director showed off this video depicting next generation character animation, which was rendered in real time on current video cards. This isn’t the actual gameplay, but if you consider how awesome games like Heavy Rain looked, I think it’s safe to say this next generation will present to us a new level of gaming, both graphically and innovatively.
