It seems the Darksiders franchise could be riding its way to consoles and PC yet again.
While no one has officially bought the franchise from now-defunct publisher THQ, former Vigil Games (the studio behind the Darksiders brand) co-founder David Adams is now looking to buy it himself.
For reference, Adams is now part of Crytek, makers of the Crysis franchise among other things, and is now the CEO of Crytek USA.
The Crytek USA boss revealed this notion on Twitter where he tweeted the following:
Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators. Looking to buy @Darksiders IP back from #THQ. The IP belongs in the hands of its creators. #PS3#XboxKeep in mind though, this isn’t a done deal and if ever Adams does get it, that doesn’t mean Crytek will be making Darksiders once again…but there is the possibility of it, and franchise fans grasping at straws should be comforted by that, right? Would you want another game in the Darksiders franchise or should it remain buried in the gaming history?
