Xbox One : Microsoft drops “10-person Family Sharing” plan

While most — if not all — Xbox fans are celebrating with joy now that Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One won’t have DRM restrictions and used games will work “normally,” one of the console’s touted new features at the reveal has officially been scrapped.

Lost among all the new announcements is that the “10-person Family Sharing” plan detailed last week is no longer going to be implemented.

Here’s the official word from Microsoft’s press site:

The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.

It’s unfortunate that this had to go, but we got something better in return so that should make things square, right?
