Rainbow 6: Patriots was announced in 2011, but not much has been heard of the game since then. Last year, Ubisoft stated that the tactical shooter was still in development and active.
The game is no longer listed on GameStop and is not available for pre-orders. While retailers sometimes deactivate database entries after a long period of time, it is unusual for GameStop to remove popular games from major companies.
It’s worth nothing that Rainbow 6: Patriots appeared on GameStop’s very own Game Informer magazine, which makes the removal a little odd.
Gamers should note that the title is still available at other retailers like Amazon, so one retailer’s move isn’t indicative of a cancellation, suspension, or delay.
However, Ubisoft has refused to comment on the delisting. Upon being questioned, they responded to IGN by saying, ”We have nothing further to share about Rainbow 6: Patriots at this time.”
Maybe we’ll hear something about it at E3?
