Rockstar and Sony have a bit of a problem at hand. With the video above, Eurogamer has confirmed that the PSN version of GTA V is running poorly compared to its Blu-ray counterpart. And the difference is quite obvious.
More precisely, the difference is visible in the opening montage across Los Santos’ beaches. “Cutting rapidly across several areas, the digital version has ground textures popping in half a second late – plus delays in the drawing of shadow maps and objects like grass,” the site points out.
The graphical issues were also spotted while driving around downtown Los Santos where Eurogamer found “instances of geometry bursting into view and textures taking too long to fully resolve.”
To top it all off, the digital release is also marred by install errors. But if it’s any consolation, these performance issues aren’t as bad as those experienced on the Xbox 360 when users install both the ‘play’ and ‘install’ discs.
