Just in case you didn’t know, some of the senior staff members of People Can Fly, developers of Bulletstorm, formed their own studio called The Astronauts and is now hard at work on their first game, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
Curiously enough, Ethan Carter is not a shooter or anything remotely close to it. Instead, it’s a horror game and even more curious, the game itself won’t have enemies that want to kill your or even “death.” This was revealed by former creative director of People Can Fly. Adrian Chmielarz over on Twitter.
I asked Chmielarz if whether the game will still ahve “tension” even if you can’t die to which he replied with:
Chmielarz does have a point, no? Hopefully Ethan Carter will bring the scares and tension even if we can’t die in it.
For the latest in the game, check out the first batch of in-game screens released by The Astronauts; that and how they had horror “in them for a long time.”
