CEO Yves Guillemot believes that Ubisoft’s network of 26 international studios and 7,000 developers across the world will help the company in achieving its goal of shipping major franchises more frequently.
Guillemot’s comments came in light of Ubisoft’s latest earning reports. ”We will be able to release our franchises more and more regularly, providing solid visibility on our future revenue and profitability streams,” he said.
Ubisoft believes that his capitalization on production capacity combined with online expertise and steady internal growth will allow the company to benefit from next generation and continued growth of the online market.
While franchises like Far Cry and Prince of Persia have not had a yearly installment, games like Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance have been released every year.
I personally don’t like the idea of yearly releases despite being a fan of the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry series, but I understand that some fans want that.
I just hope that the games will undergo serious quality checks before being released because my copy of Assassin’s Creed III (purchased on launch) was unbelievably full of bugs!
