Ubisoft publishes Battlefield 4 system requirements, EA employee doesn’t think they’re genuine

In a rather strange move, Ubisoft published system requirements for Battlefield 4 on it’s Uplay game store. But one EA employee doesn’t think that they’re genuine.

Origin Producer Redditor Offspring said, “I don’t believe the final system requirements have been decided yet, and this looks a lot like placeholder system requirements from BF3 with a couple of tweaks. I know everyone’s excited for BF4 news, but I wouldn’t trust an Ubisoft page with system requirements for it just yet.”

Oddly enough, the system requirements posted on Uplay seem to be less than those required for the Alpha trial. The Uplay page isn’t in English, but following are the requirements that they’ve posted:

OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) 32-bit
Processor: Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core (Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz
or Althon X2 2.7 GHz)
Memory: 2 GB System RAM
Hard Drive: 20 GB
Video Card:DirectX 10.1 compatible with 512 MB RAM
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core CPU
Memory: 4 GB
Hard Drive: 20 GB
Video Card: DirectX 11 compatible with 1024 MB RAM (NVIDIA
GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950)
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Compare this with Alpha requirements:

OS: Vista SP2, Win7 (Win8 not supported)
64 bit (32 bit not supported)
Dx10 or Dx 11 GPU with 1+GB of RAM, Dx 11 highly recommended
25GB HDD free space required
Latest Origin version required

Doesn’t make sense to us either.

Thanks, JOYPAD!

  1. Its called optimizing the software. So yeah it does make sense, not that I would trust another publisher with someone else’s game. I will wait till its announced by DICE/EA.

    • The fact that Ubisoft posted the “optimized requirements” doesn’t make sense to us since EA employees themselves don’t seem to know anything about it.

  2. The widget works with WordPress but it’s impossible to make it work with Joomla. Is any of you using it with that cms?. Thanks..

  3. I have a hosted WordPress blog. For some reason, my blog posts are being sent out to followers of another blog. The other blog owners uses Blogger. We can figure out why or how this is happening?.

  4. I really love the sciences, especially chemistry and physics. But I also love the creative aspect of the spectrum, such as writing and books. I really want to write. Would it be smart to minor in English or Creative Writing but major in the sciences? Does it look acceptable? I’m new to college stuff, and I’m curious. I don’t want to miss an opportunity to advance my scientific or creative knowledge! I’m a Junior in high school..
