Rumour – Radeon R9 290X graphics cards set to release at the end of the month
Authored by Matt Hadden
It has been rumoured for a while that the next top-end graphics card from AMD, the Radeon R9 290X was set to release tomorrow, but these rumours have now been debunked by the same guys who said it in the first place.
According to VideoCardz.com the card is set to arrive on October 24th, with the R9 290 arriving a few days after on October 31st. The site has described the rumours as “rumours, but a very good ones.”
AMD are yet to even officially acknowledge the existence of the cards and the website believes that they were supposed to be revealed on October 15th, which is tomorrow.
There are no known reasons for the supposed delay, but with Battlefield 4 just around the corner, they could be holding out for a date which coincides more with that. The other reason could be that they are waiting for Nvidia to reveal their expected GTX 770 Ti.
Thanks, MCV UK!
