Gamescom 2013: Call of Duty: Ghosts to use dedicated servers on Xbox One, new “Blitz” game type revealed

Call of Duty Ghosts: preview - videoSomething Call of Duty fans have been asking for years, is to have dedicated servers.

Their prayers have now been answered, as the Xbox One will be offering dedicated servers through the cloud. This means that the Xbox One will offer the “best possible online experience through the cloud”.

This is a massive reveal and may drastically alter how Call of Duty fans now perceive the Xbox One. Although it should be noted that the PlayStation 4 may offer the same dedicated servers, as Microsoft have not confirmed this to be exclusive.

Changing from P2P to dedicated is a step Call of Duty have finally taken. Good job!

A new game type for Ghosts has also been revealed. “Blitz” is an objective-based game type that requires players to attack and defend two key points on the map.

Thanks, NeoGAF!

  1. when will all these fanboys understand that xbox cloud service is going to be the game changer for next gen. sony has a cloud service to but i doubt that they are going to put in 500 million into it considering the fact that they bought their cloud instead of building it custom like microsoft has.
