EA’s CFO has seen Battlefield 4 running on a PlayStation 4

Electronic Arts’ chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen took the opportunity during a recent investor conference call to state that he has seen “the new Battlefield” running on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 console. EA has yet to officially announce Battlefield 4 for the PlayStation 4, though you’d be hard-pressed to not imagine the game running on the new platform.
According to Jorgensen, just because EA was absent from Sony’s PlayStation 4 press conference last week doesn’t mean that the company won’t support the platform until 2014 or 2015. “I’d say between now and E3, you’re going to see a lot of stuff from us.”
Jorgensen went on to say that thanks to the PlayStation 4′s horsepower, it allows EA to “do a substantial amount of things that we’ve never done before. In addition, “I’ve seen the new Battlefield and it is stunning, I mean it is just amazing; what the imagination of the game developers are allowed to do with that much power,” says Jorgensen.
It’ll be interesting to see what EA has to officially say about Battlefield 4 for the PlayStation 4. Would you like to see the next Battlefield game for your brand new PS4?

I assume that the new Battlefield will be released for PC, too. It would suck if that doesn’t come true!
I think the PC is a safe bet, since DICE and EA has announced the BF4 beta to be on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

BF3 had exclusive DLC for PS3. BF4 will probably have content only for PS4.
Not according to the new rumor mill. MS is going to have more timed exclusives next gen, and the contracts are even being signed with EA right now.

True about the destiny exclusive content, but don’t forget that MS has still has first dibs on everything Bungie produces (according to the leaked Activision contract). It wouldn’t surprise me if MS had different exclusive content for Destiny as well.

I doubt that it won’t be released on the next Xbox; but no one can make a reference to that platform until Microsoft reveal it officially.

For being first, Microsoft will sell the 720 without CPU and GPU.these components will come later, in 2014 , you will have to install them manually.

Battlefield 4 is coming to the Wii U with GamePad enabled mortar strikes! Just tap your enemies to kill them! Seriously though, PS4 is looking solid. Let’s hope they drastically overhaul the so-far-fragmented PlayStation network into something slick. Origin on PS4?
Well hopefully bf4 wont come out any time too soon as we havent even gotten the last dlc for bf3 yet lol.

You’re right. I misread the headlines. It is NOT a yearly thing, though I won’t be surprised if EA came out and said it will be a yearly thing akin to Call of Duty. Sorry about that.
Call of Duty is on the way out, no new innovations.. people are getting tired of the same thing, same engine, same graphics, same story lines. Slowly Battlefield will rise to the top.
Uncharted 4 will blow everything away anyway.
I’d MUCH rather have Jak 4 or another new IP (not interested in TLoU) from Naughty Dog. The general consensus is that UC3 is a big step back from UC2 and the formula is now tired and predictable now. Three UC games in one generation is ridiculous.
Also the series isn’t that big, even with Sony’s best marketing campaign and unparalleled mass bundling the series isn’t hugely popular, Naughty Dog could quite easily create another new IP that’s far more imaginative and fantastical and garner at least the same amount of commercial success and more acclaim (Only UC2 was universally acclaimed, UC3 was acclaimed too but to a much lesser degree. Though UC:DF was well-received but UC:GA received a lukewarm response from fans & critics).
