During Microsoft’s pre-E3 media briefing, the company announced that 21 countries, namely those in North America and Europe, will get the Xbox One by the end of 2013. Asian gamers, on the other hand, will have to wait quite a bit.
Those in India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore will have to wait until 2014 to get their hands on the Xbox One. At least that’s better than the Japanese release date: TBA. Talking to Famitsu, a Microsoft Japan spokesperson commented on the Japanese release date:
Microsoft plans to release Xbox One as the new-gen all-in-one system in Japan. [The system’s] Release date and additional details will be announced at an appropriate time.
More specifically, talking to The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft’s Adam Bowman confirmed that there will be a “staged approach” to release the Xbox One in Japan.
