Zynga founder is “bored with games,” doesn’t really understand current climate

During the Q&A portion of an informal rooftop talk to Israeli tech entrepreneurs, Zynga founder and chairman Mark Pincus was asked what his favorite game was. Pincus’ answer was contrite and, depending on who you ask, quite ignorant of the current climate of video games: “Right now, I’m pretty bored with all games.”
Pincus later explained that, while he was addicted to FarmVille and CityVille, nothing has really interested him yet. “I want that addiction again,” said Pincus. When given the chance to retract or recast his comment, Pincus didn’t do so.
The P.E. Perspective: If that is Pincus’ opinion, then that is fine. At the very least, though, we hope he is aware that he is missing out on sharp and creative developments in the video game industry. If Pincus is not, it’s easy to label him as “out of touch” with what’s going on now.
