Where is GTA V for PC and Next-Gen?

Gamers suffered 11.7 million malware attacks this year, Grand Theft Auto V a popular target

A Russian multinational Internet security company, Kaspersky Lab, has found that gamers around the globe faced 11.7 million malware attacks in 2013. Kaspersky has identified “4.6 million pieces of gaming focused malware.” Attacks seemed to focus mainly on Europe, where they averaged 34,000 per day. Spain was hit the worst with 138,786 attacks, followed by Poland with 127,509. Apparently, games like Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto 5 were popular targets. Hackers exploited the hype surrounding Rockstar’s GTA V this year by offering fake free downloads loaded with malware. On […]

GTA V week one UK sales higher than week one sales of six AAA titles combined including FIFA 14

No surprises here, but an achievement worth praise. Grand Theft Auto V has set a record that’s going to be pretty damn hard to beat for anyone in the entertainment industry. In just the UK alone, the game sold 2 million copies within one week. MCV has now pointed out that sales of GTA V in the UK during week one exceeded week one sales of the following titles combined: FIFA 14 Battlefield 4 Call of Duty: Ghosts Batman: Arkham […]

Call of Duty: Ghosts shoots its way to the top of the UK charts, fending off its main rival

Call of Duty: Ghosts shoots its way to the top of the UK charts, fending off its main rival

The reviews for Call of Duty: Ghosts may not have been all that amazing this time around but as usual it has found itself at the top of the UK charts, and crucially, getting ahead of Battlefield 4 which had to settle for second place. It would appear that EAs plan to beat Call of Duty: Ghosts to market hasn’t really worked all that well. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has slipped down to third in the charts with FIFA […]

GTA V sex and violence scenes toned down in Japanese version of the game

It has been reported that the Japanese version of Rockstar’s hit, Grand Theft Auto V, is missing some sex and violence that can be found in Western copies of the game. The scenes aren’t cut out completely, but have been toned down and edited enough that it’s noticeable. If you’ve completed the game and don’t mind some spoilers, then you can watch a video of some of the edits here. Just to clarify, even the Japanese version of the game has […]

Microsoft: Xbox 360 has sold over 80 million units to retail worldwide

Yes, the dawn of the next generation of consoles is almost upon us mere mortals, but that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from releasing more Xbox 360 figures. According to Microsoft, internal data showed that the Xbox 360 has “reached 80 million consoles sold to retailers worldwide.” While it does not mean that is how many units have been sold to customers, it is not far-fetched to say that the Xbox 360 has sold close to 80 million units. In addition, while […]

GTA V makes a strong entry in the Japanese market, first Western title to do this well

GTA V makes a strong entry in the Japanese market, first Western title to do this well

You know Rockstar has created a masterpiece when it ends up doing so well in the Japanese market that it sets a new record for a Western-made title in that region. While Pokemon remains number one in Japanese charts, the PS3 version of GTA V sold a remarkable 360,115 units in its first week. Even the Xbox 360 version did well by making a ninth place debut with sales of 26,612 units. That really is a first! Similar to the West, GTA V […]

Rapper sends cease and desist letter to Rockstar over the use of his songs in GTA V

Rapper Daz Dillinger isn’t happy about his songs being used in GTA V despite the fact that he had turned down Rockstar’s offer of $4,271 for two songs. Dillinger said that the offer was “offensively low.” Speaking to TMZ, the rapper said that the action he’s taking is about “respecting an artist’s work” and that “Rockstar didn’t do that here” so he “can’t let them get away with it.” The songs in question are C-Walk and Nothin’ But the Cavi Hit, which Dillinger […]

Report: Grand Theft Auto V headed to PC in 2014

Other than Half-Life 3, or whatever it turns out to be, one of the most desired games for PC users is Grand Theft Auto V. Hell, there’s even an online petition for a PC version of GTA V that will soon hit 600,000 signatures. If this report is any indication, PC users will soon have their wish. Eurogamer reports that, according to “multiple industry sources,” GTA V will be released for the PC sometime in the first quarter of 2014. […]

Title update for GTA V addresses GTA Online progress loss and other issues

Title update for GTA V addresses GTA Online progress loss and other issues

While we expected GTA Online, GTA V‘s multiplayer add-on, to have its share of issues, having problems such as save data loss aren’t small ones. Fortunately, Rockstar, the game’s developer, might have fixed that issue, and many others, in the latest title update for GTA V. The title update fixes “the cause of players losing their gameplay progress,” except for “some specific instances where players purchase a vehicle and the save does not occur due to a cloud save failure.” […]

FIFA 14 fights off competition from GTA V for the second week in UK’s top charts

It looks like playing football is preferred over being a career criminal in the UK. For the second week in a row, EA’s FIFA 14 has held on to its number one spot in the country’s top charts. We’re not sure how long it will last in the number one spot, though. Sales of FIFA 14 have already fallen by 68%, which is slightly better than the week two sales drop of 72% that FIFA 13 experienced. Rockstar doesn’t have anything […]

In a strange twist, Fox News says GTA V is a “must-have”

In a strange twist, Fox News says GTA V is a “must-have”

We’re all familiar with Fox News and its frequent crusades against video games. It was, therefore, no surprise that the channel had quite a few negative remarks to make about Rockstar’s GTA V. But what’s really bizarre and puzzling is the fact that Fox News has listed GTA V as one of the “must-have” tech toys on their website. No, I’m not pulling your leg. If you don’t believe me, click here and see for yourself. The post reads: The […]

GTA V players attempt to manipulate in-game stock market

GTA V players attempt to manipulate in-game stock market

While there are many things to do in Grand Theft Auto V‘s Los Santos, the ones that are arguably the most intriguing are the abilities to buy and sell stock on two different exchanges: Liberty City National and BAWSAQ. Prices on both exchanges are affected by in-game events, such as the conspicuous murder of a certain CEO, that lead to either a rise or fall in a company’ stocks. Many players have wondered whether BAWSAQ is affected by players connected […]

GTA Online to arrive in the form of an update, downloadable starting tomorrow morning

Rockstar revealed some last-minute regarding GTA Online’s launch tomorrow, October 1, and how players can access it. For one, it will arrive in the form of an update on both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. The download is said to be a “small” one, so for those concerned that they might not have enough space, that fear can be put to rest. While Rockstar didn’t give an exact time as to when to expect the update, since it’s contingent on […]

FIFA 14 shoves GTA V off UK charts number one spot

FIFA 14 shoves GTA V off UK charts number one spot

If you were thinking Grand Theft Auto V would lord it over the UK Charts for at least a month or two, then you’re sadly mistaken. Just in its second week, GTA V has been toppled by EA’s footie mega-franchise FIFA 14. Although it bears mentioning that GTA V hasn’t been easy to come by in the UK, which could also attribute to its 83% sales drop week-on-week. Either that or everyone including your granny has already bought one when […]
