According to a report by Tech Hunter, the Japanese Conglomerate may be planning an unveiling of the PlayStation 4 console itself before E3.

The site claims that reports suggest that the unveiling may first happen next month, in May, at a private event.

Sony has held back the design of the console, likely at least partly to generate buzz since its announcement in February. The most that has been said about its design officially was by Sony Worldwide Studios vice president Michael Denny, who responded to questions about the look and design of the console with the following:

“I’m not sure it’s instructive for me to start trying to describe or talk about what I’ve seen or haven’t seen in terms of the actual look of the box. But yeah, you know it’s going to be another fantastic design and we can’t wait to reveal it.”

It’s generally thought that the next generation Xbox and the PlayStation 4 will be publically revealed at E3 2013 in June.

I’m more interested in whether or not they’ve got some features up their sleeve that they’ve been saving for the xbox reveal, rather than what it looks like.

The looks of the console don’t really matter that much to me. I want to more about pricing and ps plus subscription services.
