Co-founder of Rockstar Games, Dan Houser, has said that single-player campaigns are more popular than multiplayer. Speaking to Polygon, he said that while multiplayer has gained popularity, it doesn’t attract as many players as single-player campaigns do.
“Not everybody, not even with Call of Duty, not everyone is playing the multiplayer. There’s a huge audience for people who love single-player adventures,” he said.
Houser believes that big single-player games can do very well, but he maintained that multiplayer is an important addition to GTA V. He said, ”I think we feel passionately about open-world games. What we like about open-world games is that a lot of the qualities of it are not unique to single-player.”
GTA Online will launch on October 1st.
