Report: PS4 images show mass production well underway, a million consoles shipped by one factory alone
Authored by Alex Co
For those of you who pre-ordered or planning to get a PlayStation 4 at launch, you’ll be glad to know that manufacturing of Sony’s next-gen console is well underway.
I know it’s a given since we’re about two months from release, but seeing the actual images makes it all the more better.
In related news, the person who leaked the pictures also claims that his boss said they are shipping out over one million PS4s from their factory alone presumably for the console’s launch, and that they aren’t the only factory in China manufacturing Sony’s next-gen machine.
So, sit tight, people! Hopefully this means all launch day pre-orders will be fulfilled and then some.
Have you pre-ordered a PS4 or are you planning on braving the lines to get one on launch day?
The P.E. Perspective:
Given how confident Sony has reportedly been with retailers the past few months, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did manage to meet pre-order demand. Bear in mind that the PS4 is made of top-of-the-shelf PC parts so manufacturing it should be easier compared to past consoles. Regardless though, it does tingle a bit seeing those boxes filled with next-gen units.
