PlayStation 4 will let people use their real names at launch

While Microsoft are not allowing Xbox One owners to use their real names online until after launch, Sony will be offering this option immediately with their PlayStation 4. PSN IDs can be abandoned in exchange for a forename and a surname.
With both Microsoft and Sony pushing the integration of social networks, like Facebook and Twitter, the option of having your real name displayed, rather than a nickname or silly muddle of numbers and letters, seems like a good idea.
This feature is completely optional and, for those wanting to use their real name for Facebook but their nickname for games, they can do so with ease.
While I personally won’t be sharing my gaming achievements on Facebook or Twitter, I can certainly see the appeal of this. A friend request off “Mark Hall” is much less concerning than a friend request off “360NOSCOPEZL33T”!
