PlayStation 4 might not reach expected shipments this year – Rumour

It was revealed by Digitimes today that the PlayStation 4 may have trouble moving shipments of 12-16 million units, as the supply chain has not received any shipment instructions.
This points to possible delay in the console mass shipment schedule, so retailers may well have to push back the release date.
“Sony originally told its upstream suppliers that it will start shipping its new PS4 game consoles in June with mass shipments scheduled in August, and shipment volumes would have a chance to reach 20 million units in 2013.”
This falls in line with our early rumour about the Xbox 720 heading out in June, Microsoft would want to battle against Sony at every chance they get.
