Nvidia 320.49 driver fixes Battlefield 3 and Assassin’s Creed III problems

Authored by

nvidiaThose of you playing Battlefield 3 or Assassin’s Creed III powered by Nvidia graphics cards, may have noticed some strange graphical glitches in the game. The cause was brought on by the 320.18 driver.

This driver was the only driver available for the new 700 series cards, which meant that players either had to deal with the graphical hiccups, or not play at all.

Nvidia have now fixed these problems with the new 320.49 beta driver. I have myself tested the driver for two hours on Battlefield 3 and can confirm that it is now running perfectly.

Here’s the changelog for the new 320.49 beta driver:

Product Support
Added support for the GeForce GTX 760.

Performance Boost
Increases performance for GeForce 400/500/600 Series GPUs in several PC games when compared to the GeForce 314.22 drivers.

GeForce Experience
-This driver includes the production release of GeForce Experience (version 1.5) as an optional installation. GeForce Experience replaces NVIDIA Update as the easiest way to keep your drivers up to date.

NVIDIA PhysX System Software
-This driver package installs NVIDIA PhysX System Software v9.13.0604.
NVIDIA GPU PhysX acceleration is available only on systems with GeForce 8-series and later GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory.
NVIDIA GPU PhysX acceleration is not available if there is a non-NVIDIA graphics processor in the system, even if it is not used for rendering.

HD Audio Driver
This driver package installs the HD audio driver, version 1.3.24.2.

Those who were affected by the old driver can rest assured that no damage was caused to their GPU. I asked Nvidia’s support staff myself, and they assured me that everything is fine.

Those of you wondering what exactly was wrong with the 320.18 driver can see for yourselves in my video below. Funky stuff I’m sure you’ll agree!

It actually doesn’t fix that Battlefield bug (that you can see in the video here). I got it after playing for 1hr.

  • Randomguy 456 lol

^ yeah, it doesn’t fix the Battlefield bug. In fact, it was even worse than 320.18

  • swedenrule1

It fixes the AC3 bug, but it makes the game turn into 3D
