Microsoft increases the price of Xbox One exclusives in the UK by £5

Authored by

For some reason, Microsoft has hiked the prices of  its Xbox One exclusives on the online games store by £5. It appears that this increase only applies to the UK.

Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome and Forza Motorsport 5 are now £49.99, up from £44.99. It seems that the company has done this without a warning and has no explanation to offer either. Eurogamer claims that it contacted Microsoft to inquire about the change and this is what they came back with:

Yes, pricing for select digital content in some markets has changed since launch. Digital content pricing is subject to change and we may occasionally offer various deals or promotions. Ultimately pricing and promotions will vary by region.

Just like Sony, the prices of Microsoft’s online games are now higher than the disc versions. Digital future, folks!
