Charity organization Gaming for Good has raised over $10 million for Save the Children. GFG is run by gamer and internet personality, Bachir Boumaaza aka Athene.
For those who aren’t familiar with GFG, it offers downloadable PC games through its website that can be purchased using points earned through charitable donations. The initiative was met with a positive response, and a number of publishers and indie studios ending up joining the cause. These include Square Enix, Remedy Entertainment, The Fullbright Company, and Cellar Door Games.
Boumaaza has previously helped to raise over $1m for African hunger relief, teaming up with Razer and DC Entertainment for the cause.
