EA settles NCAA lawsuit, will “pay tens of millions” to student athletes

EA has finally settled what could have potentially been one of the most damaging lawsuits to the company by agreeing to pay out “tens of millions of Dollars.’
The games company was sued along with NCAA for using the names, images, and likenesses of former and current student athletes in NCAA video game series. The athletes were not compensated by EA. Now that EA has decided to make a settlement, NCAA has been left alone to defend itself. It should be noted that the class is still pending certification but response from plaintiffs has been positive as their attorneys have called this a “historic settlement.”
Considering the fact that EA made way more money from the games than what they’re paying out, they may just have averted a major disaster.
