We all know that EA usually have a lot of brand-name guns in their games, that’s how gamers often become familiar with guns. But it seems that EA are no longer going to be giving any money to gun makers, Yahoo reports.

Awhile back, EA set up a website that linked to the actual gun manufacturers, so players could look at the real version of their in-game and actually buy it. But this was widely criticised, and EA quickly shut it down, and said that it was part of a charity project which aimed to raise money for military veterans, who didn’t actually receive anything.

This is more likely a money factor than a stance on guns;

“We’re telling a story and we have a point of view,” EA’s Frank Gibeau said. “A book doesn’t pay for saying the word ‘Colt,’ for example.”

EA is currently in a legal battle with aircraft maker Bell Helicopter, they believe that EA over stepped the line of fair use and are now committing trademark infringement.
